AUSTIN CONDOS REACH NEW HEIGHTS / AUSTIN (Austin American-Statesman) & RECON– Constructive Ventures Inc. of Austin and Trammell Crow Co. plan to build 425 condominiums on the 1.7-acre home of Austin Energy Control Center.
The condos would be built in two towers as high as 500 feet.
The partnership would buy the tract for $14.5 million; however, the soonest that Constructive Ventures could purchase the property is March 2013.
The $220 million project also includes 15,000 sf of retail and would generate approximately $4.8 million a year in tax revenue for the city.
Tim McCabe, senior vice president with Trammell Crow, said the company still plans to build a $750 million project at the former Green Water Treatment Plant, southeast of where the condos are to be built.

TEXAS EXISTING HOME SALES, PRICES UP IN MARCH
TEXAS (Real Estate Center) – A total of 19,330 existing single-family homes were sold in Texas last month, up 16 percent from March 2009, according to MLS data compiled by the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University.
The median price was up 4 percent to $144,600 during the same period, and the state finished the month with a 7.1-month inventory of existing homes.
Here is how select Texas cities fared in March (data current as of April 27, 2010):
